Morgenhof processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, known as POPIA, and other applicable South African laws.

Morgenhof Wine Estate is the responsible party for personal information processed through the Morgenhof website, online wine store, wine club, event registrations, bookings, enquiries, and marketing communications.

Morgenhof collects information you provide directly and technical information generated when you visit the website.

The information collected depends on how you interact with Morgenhof and includes:

• Your restaurant, wine tasting, venue, and event booking information

• Your newsletter and marketing preferences
• Your IP address, browser type, device information, website activity, and referring page
• Information required to confirm that you meet the legal age requirement for purchasing alcohol

Morgenhof only requests information relevant to the service, transaction, registration, or communication involved.

Payment information

Online wine purchases and wine club payments are processed through Commerce7 and the payment provider connected to the Morgenhof online store, including Paystack where applicable.

Payment providers process your card and transaction details through their secure systems. Morgenhof does not store your full card number, security code, or complete payment credentials on the website.

Payment providers process information according to their own privacy and security terms.

How we use your information

Morgenhof processes personal information for the following purposes:

• Creating and managing your online account
• Processing payments, wine orders, and deliveries
• Managing wine club memberships, shipments, benefits, promotions, and allocations
• Confirming restaurant, wine tasting, venue, and event bookings
• Managing registrations for open days and other estate events

• Sending order confirmations, booking confirmations, reminders, and service messages
• Confirming your legal eligibility to purchase alcohol
• Managing complaints, refunds, disputes, and account questions
• Sending news, event information, wine releases, and offers where you have agreed to receive marketing

• Improving the website, services, events, products, and customer experience

Service providers receive only the information needed to perform their agreed services. Morgenhof requires service providers to handle personal information securely and lawfully.

International processing

Some technology providers, including Google and Commerce7, operate systems or service providers outside South Africa.

Where personal information is processed outside South Africa, Morgenhof takes reasonable steps to ensure the recipient applies appropriate privacy and security safeguards as required by POPIA.

The Morgenhof website uses cookies and similar technologies.

Morgenhof also uses Google Analytics to understand website usage. Google Analytics processes information such as browser and device details, general location information, pages visited, visit duration, and interactions with the website.

Google Analytics does not provide Morgenhof with your full card details or information entered during payment.

The website does not currently use the Meta Pixel or Google Ads conversion tracking.

You may manage non-essential cookies through the website cookie controls and your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies might prevent the store, customer account, or checkout from working correctly.

Alcohol sales and children’s information

The Morgenhof website, online wine store, and wine club are intended for people aged 18 or older.

Morgenhof does not knowingly sell alcohol to anyone under 18.

Where age confirmation is required, the information is processed to meet legal obligations relating to alcohol sales.

If Morgenhof learns that personal information belonging to a child was submitted without proper authorisation, Morgenhof will take reasonable steps to remove the information.

Information security

Morgenhof applies reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information against:

• Unauthorised access
• Unlawful use or disclosure

Requests for access to records held by Morgenhof are handled under the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000, known as PAIA.

Morgenhof is preparing its PAIA Manual. Until the manual is published, PAIA requests should be sent to the Information Officer at marketing@morgenhof.com.

• The right you seek to exercise or protect
