The Estate

Rooted in Stellenbosch with Intention

Set against the slopes of Simonsberg, Morgenhof has stood at the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands since 1692. More than three centuries on, the estate still takes its character from this place — its soils, its seasons, and the generations who have farmed it with intention. Today, vineyard, cellar and hospitality come together in one considered estate experience — honouring Morgenhof's Cape Dutch heritage while shaping a renewed vision for wine, food and life on the farm.

Vineyards with a sense of place

Each vineyard block is shaped by the rhythm of Stellenbosch, guided by soil, season, and careful farming.

A cellar guided by time

Our wines follow a thoughtful cellar philosophy rooted in structure, balance, and the character of the estate.

Wine Maker Philosophy

A Stellenbosch estate shaped by
vine, time and Craft.

At Morgenhof, Andries de Klerk brings a calm, thoughtful approach shaped by international harvests and a deep respect for classic wine traditions. Since joining the estate in 2012, his focus has been on balance, structure, and wines expressive of their site. His connection to the vineyards is personal, with special care given to Morgenhof’s old vine Chenin Blanc block planted in 1968. For Andries, every vintage starts in the soil and ends with a wine rooted in patience, heritage, and purpose.
