Pieter, our vineyard manager has taken some awesome pictures of the harvesting of the Sauvignon Blanc this morning. As you can see from some of the views, these vineyards lie at between 180m and 250m above sea level. The slopes are steep and face south. The flavour spectrum ranges from ripe figs, pineapple to capsicum.
Although we thought we would harvest these grapes approximately 10 days later than last year, we have however due to the heat harvested at approximately the same time as 2012.
Andries, our winemaker believes that due to this flavour spectrum he will be able to once again blend the very best of these Sauvignon Blanc blocks into a wine that has a rich mouthfeel and lingering finish.
